Double Trouble (Bedlam Butchers MC, #3; 4/5 stars)
Shy is terrified of her older brother, who’s also a snitch in the Bedlam Butchers. The only two people who might be able to protect her are Enforcers Muscle and Beast, she just has to convince them to take her in.
Every book in this series has overlapping timelines, and we dig further into the snitch storyline. Beast is the best and deserves good things, and I enjoyed Shy’s growth arc.
I noted this in my CWs, but I wanted to put it directly here: the “r” word is used once in this novella by a horrible person.
CW: domestic abuse, violence, murder, brief animal cruelty, threatened sexual assault, dubious consent, “r” word mentioned
Double Down (Bedlam Butchers MC #4; 3/5 stars)
We continue to follow Shy, Muscle, and Beast in this installment, with each of them taking turns as our point-of-view character. After an old friend of Muscles’ resurfaces, he spirals and becomes even more emotionally shut-off.
This is the shortest of all the installments so far. There’s a bit more plot and a whole lot more steam.
CW: description of PTSD
Double or Nothing (Bedlam Butchers MC, #5) (4/5 stars)
We continue to follow Shy, Muscle, and Beast in this installment, with each of them taking turns as our point-of-view character. This time, Beast runs into some trouble and may have to go back to jail to protect Shy.
I’m glad that Dixon spent a few entries of this series with these three characters. This little mini-trilogy was a fun read in one day.
As always, check these out if you like a bit of plot and a good amount of steam.
CW: violence, blackmail, sexual harassment
tl;dr
These are great quick reads if you’re looking for some plot and lots of steam. I listened to the audio versions, which are narrated by Hollie Jackson (who does a great job).
I received a copy of these books to review. All opinions contained herein are my own.
