Snowed in For Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe is a a cute contemporary holiday romance.

I listened to the audiobook via my Spotify premium account. We have alternating POVs between our two main characters, as narrated by Hannah Church and Liam Lambert. The production quality on the audiobook was stellar.

Becca is a sorority mom who’s been unlucky in love partly because people often tell her she’s “too much.” I really identified with her, as a fellow knitter, reader, and lover of bright colored clothing. Harrison is the college football coach, a grump who is very socially awkward. When a blizzard hits around Christmas and the area loses power, they shelter together. It’s a little awkward though, because two years ago they had a great first date and an amazing kiss but then he ghosted her.

This was a really enjoyable read, and it was exactly what I was in the mood for at the time I picked it up. I basically inhaled it all in one sitting. It really reminded me of Snowpocalypse 2009 where me and several of my college friends hunkered down in my house.

I agree wholeheartedly with Becca’s opinion of The Devil in the White City though the book is not stated by name in this novel. It’s a great non-fiction read about a serial killer during the Chicago World’s Fair, and it reads like it’s fiction. I love seeing book shout-outs in other books.

There are a handful of steamy scenes, and I thought they were well written. Harrison is very big on enthusiastic and explicit consent, which I always love to see in romances. There’s some dirty talk and “good girl”-ing here, so fans of Tessa Bailey might enjoy this one too.

Tropes in this book include: grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, tall/smol, miscommunication
