The Hunting Moon by Susan Dennard is a YA fantasy with horror elements and the second book in The Luminaries series. I listened to the audiobook version, narrated by Caitlin Davies.

I had a good time with this and liked it better than the first book in the series, The Luminaries. In this second installment, we get a good amount of expanded worldbuilding. Like the first book, the plot moves pretty quickly.

Some things come to light in this book, including a few of the theories I had cooking after reading the first book. I like the trajectory it’s going, and there was one reveal that really hit me in the feels.

The last book in the series, The Whispering Night is slated for release this October, and I can’t wait.

I received a copy of this book to review. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Young Listeners for the complimentary audio review copy. All opinions contained herein are my own.
