Lovely Corruption by Katee Robert is a contemporary mafia romance and the fifth book in the O’Malleys series.
I borrowed the audiobook from my library. Charlotte North does a great job narrating! I’d recommend reading the books in order to get all the details of the relationships in the previous books in the series.
I’m such a fan of the enemies to lovers trope so I had a lot of fun with this read. We finally focus on Aiden, the eldest sibling, who in previous books was kind of an ass. Here we see how much he really loves his family.
He’s paired up with former cop Charlotte, or “Charlie.” She was driven off the force after being falsely accused of being a dirty cop. They team up and pretend to be recently engaged to help each other take down Dimitri Romanov, a common enemy.
There’s only one more book in this series! I’m glad I’m reading through them now that they’re being reissued by the publisher.
Tropes in this book include: fake dating, enemies to lovers
CW: murder, assault, firearms, torture
The O’Malleys series includes:
- Dark Succession (formerly The Marriage Contract)
- Heated Rivals (formerly The Wedding Pact)
- Twisted Secrets (formerly An Indecent Proposal)
- Beautiful Vengeance (formerly Forbidden Promises)
- Lovely Corruption (formerly Undercover Attraction)
- Ruthless Redemption (formerly The Bastard’s Bargain)
