Scandal at the Savoy, #2

Lady Scandal by Laura Lee Guhrke is a fun historical romance and the second book in the Scandal at the Savoy series.
Delia works as the event planner at the lavish Savoy hotel, which, unbeknownst to her but knownst to us has been having financial difficulties. The board of directors hire Simon, a hotel magnate (and newly a viscount), to help clean up the corruption within.
I picked up Lady Scandal immediately after I DNFed a book around the midway point, and then I inhaled this within 24 hours. This slow burn historical was a breath of fresh air.
This was very charming! I didn’t quite like it as much as the first book in the series, Bookshop Cinderella, but I still really enjoyed the read and I was rooting for the main couple. Their chemistry was on point.
Grumpy/sunshine is one of my favorite tropes, and the author did a great job writing their banter. The humor here also really worked for me.
If I’m picking up what the author is putting down, I’m really hopeful that the next book in this series will be second-chance with Delia’s “spinster” friend and the “knave” she nearly ran away with when they were young (who just so happens to be one of Simon’s best friends). That’s exciting!
