Dead Tired by Kat Ailes is a small town cozy mystery and the second book in The Expectant Detectives series.

This one picks up about a year after The Expectant Detectives, which I really enjoyed. The humor really hit for me, and I was charmed by their small village in the English countryside. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Kitty Kelly, who does a phenomenal job!

Our group of new moms are getting to the tail end of their maternity leave, save for one of them, who works for a local green energy company who wants to build solar panels in a local meadow. While visiting said meadow on a picnic, they run into protestors, and decide to check out their meeting to find out more information.

I really appreciate Alice, our point of view character; she and her friends feel like real people! Reading these books is definitely a joy; I laugh out loud a bunch. I’m definitely going to continue on with this series.
