Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison is a contemporary romance and the third book in the Lovelight series.
This one is so cute and my favorite in the series thus far!
Caleb was originally a deputy, but it wasn’t a great fit for him. Now, he’s teaching Spanish at the local high school. Layla is one of the partners of Lovelight Farms, and she operates a bake shop on the property.
Both Caleb and Layla have been unlucky in love, so they strike a deal to try one month of no-strings dating so he can renew her faith in men and she can give him tips on his dating strategies. But oops their chemistry is kind of off the charts…
The audiobook is narrated by Pippa Jayne and Julio Maxwell. I particularly enjoyed Jayne’s narration in Layla’s southern drawl. Maxwell does a great job sounding earnest with Caleb.
Why are you settling for crumbs when you deserve the whole damn cake?
I think at this point I’ll read anything Borison writes.
Tropes in this book include: small town, fake dating, found family, friends to lovers
