Business Casual by B.K. Borison is a small-town contemporary rom-com and the final book in the Lovelight series.
Nova is about to open a tattoo parlor in her hometown of Inglewild, but she can’t get Charlie, a buttoned-up investment banker from NYC, out of her head. To try to get him out of her system, she proposes one night with no strings attached.
The audiobook is narrated by Pippa Jayne and Benjamin D. Walker. I like that Jayne narrated for all of the FMCs in this series, but they swapped up the narrators for the MMCs. All of them knocked these out of the park.
I’m so glad that Charlie got his own book! In the other books, he was coded as a party boy, but I always could tell he had layers. I really felt Seen in Charlie, because his ADHD presents in similar ways to mine, and we also both have similar coping mechanisms. Also the author called him a “chaotic himbo” and that is just a perfect description. Please let us protect this golden retriever hero.
This is definitely the most steamy out of the entire series. I think that Mixed Signals is still my favorite, but this one is likely right behind.
I know this is the final Lovelight book in the series, but can we pretty please with a cherry on top have an Inglewild series? Because I need to see what happens with Vanessa, and I’d really love to have at least a novella for Dane.
Tropes in this book include: small town, opposites attract, found family, friends to lovers, just one night to get it out of our system
