Always Only You by Chloe Liese is a contemporary sports romance and the second book in the Bergman Brothers series.
I borrowed the audiobook from my library for an Olympics Reading Challenge. The narrators, Nelson Hobbs and CJ Bloom, did a great job.
This series is SO CHARMING! In this installment we follow Ren, a hockey player from a large family of soccer players, and Frankie, the social media manager for his team. I don’t typically go for the workplace romance trope, but I think it was handled really well here! I also really loved the progression of the two of them from friends to lovers.
I felt really seen in our heroine, Frankie–especially the arthritis and neurodiversity representation. I stopped my listen several times to point things out to my partner that rang true to me. This is an #OwnVoices story for its portrayal of autism by an autistic author, and it really shows.
Tropes in this book include: sports, forbidden, workplace, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, friends to lovers, slow burn
Rep: neurodiversity (autism), disability (rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain), immunocompromised
The Bergman Brothers Series includes:
- Only When It’s Us
- Always Only You
- Ever After Always
- With You Forever
- Everything For You
- If Only You
- Only and Forever
