Love Advice From the Great Duke of Hell, Vol. 1 by unfins is a humorous paranormal romance graphic novel with horror elements.
A teen summons a Great Duke of Hell for a contract to help him get a date with a girl who works at a local cafe. Chaos ensues.
This was a fun and irreverent read. I ended up laughing out loud several times while I was reading. The art style felt true to the story, especially how kind of scribbly yet intense all of the hellions are.
The story is not told linearly, which was a little confusing to me until I sorted out the timeline. It jumps around a lot to different characters, so if you prefer more streamlined plots this might not be the book for you. The main character is also a bit on the unlikeable side, but he is fairly young and naïve. There are several side characters I quite enjoyed.
If you’re looking for a graphic novel with absurdist humor and a dash of horror, pick it up!
