Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the third book in the long-running cozy mystery series by Elle Cosimano.

This series is so fun! I’m continuing to listen to the audiobook (I borrowed from my local library) and follow along in my eARC. Blended reads are really my vibe right now.

In this installment, Finlay is doing some research for her next book and she and Vero enroll in a citizen’s police academy. Not only will she learn about forensics and receive firearm training, they think they might be able to sniff out who tried to kill Fin’s ex-husband. She might be able to get a little hands-on research from a tempting detective as well.

I love the zaniness that embodies this series as much as I love the Stephanie Plum series. You could probably read this as a standalone, but I’d highly recommend reading the series in order because it provides nice context.

This book ends with a great hook to lead us into book four of the series, but I’m going to read the prequel novella next.
