With You Forever by Chloe Liese is a contemporary romance and the fourth book in the Bergman Brothers series.

Rooney is taking a leave of absence from law school to focus on her health. Her best friend Willa (and partner to a Bergman sibling) offers her the use of the family A-frame house in Washington State to recuperate. Unbeknownst to either of them, eldest Bergman sibling Axel has been installing massive updates to the home, so there’s a bit too much construction going on for Rooney to stay there. I guess she’ll just have to stay with Axel in his smaller cabin on the property… And did I mention that Axel needs money to keep updating the house and his uncle left him a large sum but he has to be married in order to inherit?

Marriage of convenience is such a fun trope! I love to see how it can be used in contemporary romance, as I tend to read it more in historical romance books. There’s a good amount of mutual pining before and even after the marriage that was really lovely to read. I definitely bought the chemistry between our two leads.

As with all Chloe Liese books I’ve read to date, I’m so pleased with the diversity rep in this book. Axel is autistic and Rooney suffers from chronic illness and disability due to ulcerative colitis.

Reading about people who look and live and speak so differently from us, yet struggle like we do with their inner demons and outside forces, fight for love in their friendships and families and the people they’ve fallen for, reminds us that not only romantic love, but familial and platonic and sacrificial love is universal, and romance is timeless, that there’s a love story for anyone out there who wants one.
