This Girl’s a Killer is a fun debut thriller from Emma C. Wells.
Cordelia Black is many things: an ambitious pharma rep, a godmother, a best friend. But she’s also a vigilante, a female Dexter who lives by her own code and culls South Louisiana of predators who abuse and assault, but never seem to get caught.
Though this book was over 400 pages, it didn’t feel that way! I listened to the audiobook (narrated exceptionally well by Stefanie Kay) and blew through the first 1/3 of the book while I was making dinner one night. I inhaled the rest the following day; it had me so on the edge of my seat!
I had a ton of fun reading it, and laughed out loud several times. The flippant humor really worked for me. I would love to see this turn into a book series, and perhaps be adapted for film.
If you’re a fan of books like the Finlay Donovan series, you should absolutely give this a try!
