The Roommate Mistake is the second book in the Copper Valley Pounders rugby romcom series by Pippa Grant.
I did not intent to inhale this book in one day, but that’s absolutely what happened. Whoops!
There are several tropes that I don’t tend to get along with that are in this book, but somehow they really worked for me here. The big one is the “oops baby” trope. I think it worked here for me because the baby was from a one-night stand in another country and was not with our MMC.
I also really loved the humor in this book. From the onset of the first chapter, it had me in stitches. I laughed out loud so many times during the bonus epilogue. The bonus epilogue is SO GOOD y’all.
The found family in this series is top notch. The whole Copper Valley Pounders team is phenomenal, and I’m really excited to read more about these good, good humans in future installments of the series. I hope Miranda’s book is next!
Tropes in this book include: forced proximity, roommates to lovers, rugby hero, friends to lovers, owner’s daughter, off-limits
CW: grief (MMC lost his brother to cancer), light violence (not between MCs)
I received a complimentary review copy from the author and Hambright PR. All opinions contained herein are my own.
