Navigate Your Stars is a short nonfiction/memoir from Jesmyn Ward and illustrated by Gina Triplett.

This revelatory, uplifting, and gorgeously illustrated (by Gina Triplett!) meditation on dedication, hard work, and the power of perseverance is a very quick read, coming in at only 64 pages. It’s based on Ward’s stirring speech for Tulane University’s 2018 commencement ceremony.

I found this book very inspiring, personally. I especially love how well Triplett boosted Ward’s words with her lovely art. I have a feeling that I’ll pick this book up again from time to time when I need a push.

If you’re in need of a bit of a boost, you should absolutely pick up this little gem of a book!
