The Kiss Bet, Vol. 1 by Ingrid Ochoa is an adorable coming-of-age graphic novel.

It’s Sara’s senior year and she just turned eighteen. She wants her first kiss to be special, with someone she actually cares about. Her best friend, Patrick, challenges her to a bet that could lead to love, heartbreak, or embarrassment (but perhaps all three).

This volume contains episodes 1-18 of the Webtoon series. It was a really cute read! I love slice-of-life manga and anime, so this was right up my alley. These characters actually act their age, so expect some literal high school drama.

The artwork was really well done! I really appreciated all of the little details, like characters listening to Led Zeppelin (one of my all-time favorite bands) on their phones while waiting for transit.

There are three potential romantic options for our girl Sara. I honestly don’t know who I’m rooting for at this point, which was a big surprise to me!
