I did a blended read with my advanced reader copy and the audiobook, which is narrated by Oscar Reyes. I had a lot of fun reading this book! In general, I’m a fan of Gibson’s prose, and I was pleased with this one as well.

Moira is probably my favorite character. I love that she speaks up for what she wants and how she’s pretty good at communicating and establishing boundaries. That’s always good to see!

With all the talk of demons, I was expecting this to read darker than it is. It has a sense of humor, or snark, that reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Veronica Mars. On the romance side of things, we have a triangle which includes rivals to lovers and second chance romance tropes.

CW: childhood abuse (off-page, mentioned), alcoholism, anxiety, obsessive compulsion, blood

I received a copy of this book to review. Thank you to Angry Robot Books for the complimentary advanced reader copy and Tantor Audio for the audiobook. All opinions contained herein are my own.
