Welcome to Murder Week is a contemporary fiction novel with mystery and romance elements by Karen Dukess.

I call this contemporary fiction primarily because though the majority of the book happens during a murder mystery simulation in a small British town, the story is really not about that mystery and it’s more about our main character grieving the recent loss of her absentee mother.

There was one moment that really hit me emotionally and I teared up, and I enjoyed the found family element and small town vibes. But overall, I felt pretty middle of the road about this book.

If you’re a fan of grief stories, or tales about people trying to find their way again in their mid-30s, you might like it!
