And Then There Was The One is a delightful 1930s historical romance with cozy mystery elements.

I borrowed the audiobook from my local library, and the narrator did a fantastic job! She was fun to listen to.

If you’re a fan of books that lean a bit into meta, this would be a fantastic pick for you. I laughed out loud several times, and found myself really enjoying the author’s sense of humor and especially how she writes banter between her main characters. The side characters were all pretty fun to read about also!

I’ve read the first book in her Regency Vows series (her debut, To Have and to Hoax) and really enjoyed it, too. I need to add that to my Series Tracker so I can remember to gobble the rest of it up!

Tropes: small town, forced proximity, black cat/golden retriever, slow burn
